Alice V. Anderson, 96 of Devils Lake formerly of Edmore, ND died on Friday, December 17, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake. Funeral Services for Alice will be held on Monday, December 20, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake, ND. Rev. Harold Ovre will officiate and burial will be in the Edmore Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Honorary Pallbearers will be All the Caring Staff of the Good Samaritan Center and all of Alice’s friends and family. Active Pallbearers will be: Gary Spooner, Jack Schmitz, Jon Carl, Mark Holm, Michael Holm and Justin Carl. Music provided by Tom Wade, Soloist and Lynda Pearson, Organist Reading the Scriptures will be Jack Schmitz. Alice Victoria Severson was born on April 14, 1908 at Hampden, North Dakota the daughter of Albert and Geda Severson. She was reared and educated in the Hampden area attending Country Schools. Alice was united in marriage to Bernard Holm Sr. on October 14, 1927 in Devils Lake. They established their home on a farm at rural Edmore. Mr. Holm died in 1933. After Bernard passed away, Alice moved to Edmore. On January 22, 1940, Alice married Floyd Anderson at Lakota, ND. They lived in several towns in the area for a few years, then moved to Devils Lake where they lived and worked through the years. Floyd died on December 13, 1970. Alice continued to make Devils Lake her home where she was very active in the Senior Citizen Center as a volunteer. She was an active volunteer into her 90’s. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. One of Alice’s favorite hobbies was collecting dolls. She lovingly shared those dolls with her grandchildren. To Alice, time spent with her grandchildren was always considered her most precious treasure. Alice is survived by her Son and Daughter-In-Law: Bernard and Marge Holm, Jr.of Tioga, ND Grandchildren: Michael (Mary Ann) Holm, Tioga Mary Alice (Jon) Carl, Grand Forks Michele (Jack) Schmitz, Clifford, ND Marcy (Gary) Spooner, Tioga Mark (Bridget) Holm, Chicago, Illinois Sixteen Great Grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Bernard Holm and Floyd Anderson; brother, Gilmore Severson and sister, Grace Viger.
