Roger L. Nordrum

Roger L. Nordrum, 65 of Devils Lake, ND died on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND Funeral Services for Roger will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake. Rev. Kenneth Iverson will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Friday from 12: 00 noon until 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Del Nordrum, Bryan Nordrum, Steve Nordrum, Dallas Welch, Donald Welch and Doug Ericksmoen. Roger L. Nordrum was born on September 17, 1939 at Maddock, North Dakota the son of Norman A. and Lorena C. (Olson) Nordrum. He attended Country School in Benson County for three years. In 1948, he moved with his family to Devils Lake where he lived most of his life. Roger graduated from Devils Lake Central High School in 1957. He attended Lake Region Junior College, Devils Lake, UND, Grand Forks and graduated from Mayville State Teacher’s College with a Degree in Education. He then taught in several schools in North Dakota including Pembina, Hampden, Hurdsfield and Fort Totten. He also worked at various jobs in the Devils Lake area until retiring in 2001. Roger was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Eagles Lodge. Roger is survived by his Mother: Lorena Nordrum, Devils Lake Brother and Sister-In-Law: Alban “Albie” and Connie Nordrum, also Devils Lake Nephews: Del Nordrum Bryan (Kristi) Nordrum Steven Nordrum Great Niece: Savannah Nordrum all of Devils Lake Special Companion: Frances Welch, Minnewaukan He was preceded in death by his father.
