Robert “Bob” F. Cavanaugh, 83, of the Devils Lake area, died on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center, Aneta, ND.
Funeral Services for Robert will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake. Deacon Tony McDonald will officiate and Tony and Vina McDonald will provide the music. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Devils Lake with military honors accorded by the Neathery-Simensen Post #756, Devils Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Robert Frank Cavanaugh was born on May 24, 1921 at Fort Totten, ND the son of Robert and Helen (Jetty) Cavanaugh. He was raised and educated in the Fort Totten area. Robert served his country during World War II with the Army Air Corps. After his honorable discharge he lived in many places but in the late 1960’s returned to the St. Michael area where he worked and made his home through the years. He was at one time married to Ruth Menard and they had two sons.
