Michael J. Duncan, 57, of rural Devils Lake, ND died on Monday, January 3, 2005 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Michael will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Devils Lake. Rev. Bruce Dick will officiate.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home Chapel, Devils Lake on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. and visitation on Thursday will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ron Lang and Brian Prince
Serving as Active Pallbearers will be Brian Lawler, Travis Anderson, Gerald Buchli, John Paulson, Greg Simonson, Gerald Shoemaker and Fred Bingham.
Michael James Duncan was born on August 5, 1947 at Fargo, North Dakota, the son of Dan and Em Duncan. He was raised and educated in Fargo, graduating in the last class from Fargo Central High School in 1965. He entered the United States Navy on March 28, 1966 at Fargo, ND and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on June 20, 1969 with the rank of E5. On May 30, 1970 Mike was united in marriage to Barbara Benson in Sheyenne, ND. In 1973, they moved to Devils Lake where they have lived, worked and raised their family. While living in the Devils Lake area, Mike has worked for the United States Department of Agriculture, Wildlife Services in the APHIS Division.
Michael loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening. He also did woodworking.
Michael felt that time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends was his most precious and his greatest gift.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ron Duncan.
