Abraham “Lincoln” Blueshield, 75 a life time resident of Woodlake, rural Tokio, ND died on Friday evening, January 7, 2005 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services for Abraham will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church, rural Tokio. Pastor Dave Jore will officiate and burial will be in the Native American Cemetery, rural Tokio.
A Wake Services will be held at the Dakotah Oyate Lutheran Church on Tuesday beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Abraham Blueshield was born on February 12, 1929 at home in Woodlake, ND, the son of Joseph and Julia (Powell) Blueshield. He attended the Cavalry Square Boarding School in Fort Totten. On January 15, 1953 Abraham was united in marriage to Violet Marie Littleghost in Minnewaukan, ND. To this union were born 5 sons and 9 daughters.
Lincoln served on the Tribal Counsel as a Woodlake District Representative of the Devils Lake Sioux Tribe. He was employed with Melland’s Inc., Devils Lake which was involved in the manufacturing of heavy equipment. He also worked as a bus driver for the Head Start Program. He was a Security Guard for the Tribal Offices and Buildings and also for the Woodlake Community Center. He also worked for a time at the Tokio Elevator. Abraham lived his entire life in the Woodlake area.
Lincoln enjoyed attending pow-wows, watching baseball games, football games and old Western movies on the television. He especially loved spending time with his family and speaking the Dakota language with family and friends.
