Our precious and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin and friend, Lynda Jean Alberts “Tanyan Ahdi Win” (Brought Back Good Woman) age 66, began her journey to the Spirit world on Friday, November 6, 2009 at her home in Fort Totten, ND surrounded by her loving family.
Wake Services for Lynda will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2009 starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Fort Totten Recreation Center.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009 also at the Fort Totten Recreation Center. Deacon Tony McDonald will officiate and burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.
The procession to the Fort Totten Recreation Center will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday from Wal-Mart.
Serving as Active Casket Bearers will be Lynda’s grandsons, Jody, Charlie, Jon, Elmer, Kyle and Kris White, Derrick, Billy and Napoleon Longie and stepson, Terry Herman Sr.

Lynda was born on September 16, 1943 in Fort Totten, ND, to George and Alvina (Jerome) Alberts. Lynda attended school at Maddock, ND and Flandreau, South Dakota. Mom worked at Dakota Tribal Industries for 10 years.
Mom and Casper were together for 25 years. Together they raised Derrick Longie after Lynda’s son, Boy passed away in January of 2002. Mom loved being around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved it when her friends stopped over for coffee and to chat. Mom’s home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay. Mom had many adopted children and grandchildren.
Mom’s favorite pastimes were listening to old country music, doing crossword and word find puzzles, watching Bull Riding and Lifetime TV, visiting and laughing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lynda is survived by her husband of 25 years, Guy Casper Demarris; Children, Leola White and her children Jody, Charlie, Jon and Kami White; Alvina Thompson and her children Elmer, Kyle Kris, Krystal, Kathy, Krista, Kristy and Denise White; Wilma Longie and her children Napoleon and Mary Longie; Henrietta Longie and her daughter Alvina Longie; the late Boy Longie’s children, Derrick and Billy Longie and nineteen great grandchildren; aunt, Virginia Foote; brothers, Buddy (Gloria) Alberts and Quentin Alberts; sisters, Winona Fox, Virginia Lancelotta, Marie (Bill) Jerome and Sally (Porgie) Cavanaugh; adopted brothers, Bob Greywater, Tony McDonald, Rodney HowlingWolf, Don Buffalo, Frank Lovejoy and Don Belgarde Sr.; adopted little bro, Demus McDonald; adopted sisters, Sheila Thompson, Myra Pearson, Joetta ThreeIrons, Frankie Chaske and Catherine Howard; sisters-in-law, Etlene White Hawk and Imogene Belgarde; stepson, Terry Herman Sr. (Catalina) along with their children, Ryan, Chance, Terry Jr. and Christine; adopted mother, Mary Hill and her children; daughter-in-law, Shannon Buckles; adopted daughter, Tane Russo; special niece, Lavonne Alberts; special nephews, Walter T.
