Archie RedFox, Jr. “Ohitika Mani” (Walking Strong), 67 of rural Warwick, ND began his spiritual journey on Thursday, August 5, 2010 with his loving family and friends beside him. Archie passed away at the Triumph Hospital in Mandan, ND. Visitation will be held at the Tokio Recreation Center on Friday, August 13th beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. The procession to Tokio will leave on Friday at 4:00 p.m. from Wal-Mart. Funeral Services for Archie will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Tokio Recreation Center with burial in the Bdecan Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Tokio. Officating the services will be Rev. Enright BigHorn, Fr. Charles Leute, OP, Rev. Evan Elk and Tony American Horse family. Music will be provided by Loretta Stensland and family, American Horse family and the Elk family and anyone who would like to share their music. Serving as Casket Bearers for Archie will be Monty Redfox Sr., Mahlan “Mash” Redfox Sr., David Redfox, Truwid Tikanye, Troy Redfox Sr., Archie Redfox III, Wade Longie and Joel Redfox Sr. Junior Bearers will be Joel Redfox Jr. and Carson Robertson. Honorary Bearers will be Cliff Belgarde, Leo Belgarde, Louis Garcia, Michael “Buggs” Thompson, Donald Belgarde Sr., Albin Georgeson, Elmer Brown, Andy Demarce, Thaddeus Demarce, Marge Brown, Aloysius Cloud, Herbert BlueShield, Archie Mudgett, Gene Paul, John “Jack” Dauphinais, Leo Delorme and family, Glen Wallace and family, Gary Frederick and family, Douglas “Chuck” Longie and family, Clifford Littlewind and family, Rodney Smith and family, Dallas Delorme and family, Russell Wallace and family, Edward Langstaff and family, Whalen “Bud” Shaw and family, Calvin Smith and family, Jason and Colette Thompson and family, Steve "Butch" Lohnes, Kenneth Dunn, Hulstrand Construction Company, Archie Campbell Construction, MedCenter One 2nd Floor Nursing Staff, Dr. Youssef and Transplant Coordinators, Rhonda Ward, Laurie Vanderpan, Sue Markegard and Viki Renken. Archie RedFox Jr. was born on June 28, 1943 in Fort Totten, ND the son of Archie and Gertrude (Crow) Redfox Sr. His adopted parents, Ephraim and Mary Hill Sr. were very important people in Archie’s life. Archie attended Tokio Public School and Maddock High School. After high school he attended the American Indian Bible School in Phoenix, Arizona. He retruned to North Dakota and was united in marriage for over 45 years to Geraldine Thompson. As they began their life together, they moved to Denver, Colorado so Archie could attend the Denver School of Welding. Upon graduating, the family moved to San Jose, California and he began his ironwork career. The family eventually moved back to North Dakota to settle in the Warwick area where Archie worked for several area farmers. Once again, he was able to put his ironwork skills to use by assisting with different projects in the state, such as, Four Winds School, Holiday Mall, bridges, missile sites etc. When these projects were complete, Archie began his career in road construction with Archie Campbell and Hulstrand Construction Companies. For many years, Archie was a member of the TERO Board for the Spirit Lake Nation. In 1996 he was elected Woodlake Representative for the Spirit Lake Nation but was forced to resign due to illness. In his spare time he loved to spend time with his friends and family repairing cars, crossword puzzles, playing cards and traveling the country which was a passion that began as a teenager and continued throughout his life. Archie took pride in assisting anyone who came to him for advice and guidance. Archie is survived by his wife Geraldine Redfox; children Monty (Jackie) Redfox, Mahlan (Cheryl) Redfox, Michele Redfox, David Redfox, Troy Redfox, Joel (Natalie) Redfox, Archie Redfox III and Mirian (Manuel) Redfox; twenty-seven grandchildren including the four grandchildren he raised, Tyler, Wilson, Maressa and Allen Redfox; three great grandchildren; aunt Mary Hill; sisters Sharon (Albin) Georgeson, Hilda (Louie) Garcia, Alberta Redfox and Elizabeth Kay Redfox; sisters-in-law Violet (Calvin) Smith, Viola Thompson and Charlotte Rickford; many nieces, nephews and cousins; Archie was preceded in death his parents, Archie and Gertrude Redfox Sr.; adopted father, Ephraim Hill Sr.; children, Marion “Med” Redfox and Melissa Lynn Redfox; grandchildren, Lanessa McKay and Valdon Redfox; grandparents, Solomon and Mary Redfox and Samuel and Agnes Crow; uncle, Norman Adam; brothers and sisters, June Redfox, Bernice Redfox, Etta Redfox, Francis Tikayne, Karen Redfox, Leroy Redfox, Joanne Redfox, Robert Redfox, Miriam Redfox, Annie Redfox, Floyd Westerman, Cris Westerman; brothers-in-law, Calvin Thompson and Arthur Thompson; sister-in-law, Rose Thompson and several nieces, nephews including Mark Lufkins, Jeremy Redfox and Klo Redfox and close friends.
