Adrian John Thompson, 51 of Moorhead MN formerly of Tokio ND was born on July 14, 1969, the son of Violet Smith, began his journey to the Spirit World on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Sanford on Broadway, Fargo ND. 

Visitation for Adrian will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.   Graveside Services for Adrian will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery with Reverend Paul Schuster officiating.  The procession to St. Michael will leave at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1st from City Plaza, Devils Lake. 

Adrian John Thompson, twin son of Violet Thompson and Roland Poitra was born on July 14, 1969 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake. Adrian moved to Fargo/Moorhead area at a young age where he grew up and was educated. Adrian was a passionate artist, he loved to draw and was the creator of many beautiful works of art. 

Adrian treasured spending time with his family and friends and his two beautiful daughters Alisa Ann and Brittany Dae were his pride and joy. They meant the world to him.

Adrian was truly loved and will be greatly missed by his family including his mother Violet Smith; daughters Alisa and Brittany Dae Thompson; adopted son Alfred Jesse Jackson; godmother Corrine Brown; brothers Vance Thompson Sr., his twin brother Aaron Thompson Sr., Waylon (Michelle) Smith and Calvin Smith Jr; sisters Amanda (Roger) Smith and Candice Smith; grandmothers Elizabeth Lawrence and Pauline Greywater; aunts Geraldine Redfox, Viola Thompson, Yvonne Thompson, Sharon Georgeson, Hilda Garcia, Alberta Redfox, Dianne Jackson and Sheila Thompson; uncles Duane Jackson Sr. and Aloysius Cloud and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Roland Poitra, twin sisters Laurie Ann Smith, and Laura Mae Smith, grandparents Mary Jackson and John Thompson, nephew Johnathan Thompson, granddaughter Raven Thompson and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Active Casket Bearers will be Monty Redfox, Troy Redfox, David Redfox, Joel Redfox, Archie Redfox III, Vance Thompson Sr. and Jason Thompson.

Honorary Bearers are Lola Waanatan and family, Chief Waanatan, Geraldine Redfox and family, Corrine Brown and family, Yvonne Thompson, Elizabeth Lawrence, Helena Littleghost, Elizabeth Littleghost, Marva Tollefson, Elaine Robertson, Pauline Yankton, Roger Yankton, Preston Paul, Jason Paul, Perry Paul, Sally Paul, Barry Geske Jr., Melvin Langstaff, Duane Jackson and family, Bud and Renita Shaw and family, Josie and Clarice Lawrence and family, Gabriel Smith, Viola Thompson, Mariam (Manuel) Vega and family, Sam Cloud and family, Cora Whiteman, Darcie Delorme and family, Lonna Street and family, Amy Brown and family, Carrie Ann Smith and family, Monty (Jackie) Redfox and family, Joel Redfox and family, Archie Redfox Jr. and all of Adrian’s neighbors and friends at the Gateway Gardens Apartment Complex. Adrian touched the lives of many people and if we forgot to name you it was not intentional. Please forgive us as we do our best during this very difficult time.  God Bless You All.
