Alden S. Guy

Alden Shane Guy was born in Devils Lake ND on July 24, 1977 to Robert and Yvonne (Meade) Guy and began his journey to the Spirit World surrounded by his family, brother and sisters on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Essentia Health in Fargo ND. 

Alden grew up on the Spirit Lake Nation, living in the St. Michael and Tokio area.  He attended Warwick Public School, a few years of schooling in Fargo and completed his education at the Kicking Horse Job Corp in Montana. 

He worked for 10 years as a Shuttle Bus Driver for the Spirit Lake Casino prior to moving to Fargo.  Most recently he made his home in Moorhead MN where he worked various jobs through the years. 

He felt blessed to have the love and support of his family whom he treasured with all his heart.

Shane is survived by his wife Chris Redroad; brothers John Guy, Duane Guy, Robert Guy Jr, Ryan Guy and Michael Guy; sisters Mary Guy and Rita Guy; aunts Marilyn Meade, Barbara Meade, Arlene Meade and Katherine Meade; uncle Lee Guy and many dear nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents Benedict and Rita Meade; paternal grandparents John Miller and Mary Stone; sisters Shelly Guy, Mary Kay Guy, Elaine DeMarce; brother Richard DeMarce and other aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Robert Guy, Mike Guy, Cody Guy, George DeMarce, Clarence LeftBear III and Tom DeMarce.  Honorary Bearers will be all Co-Workers at Spirit Lake Casino, Audrey Belgarde, Medical Staff at Essentia Hospital, Doris Thompson, Angie Bull and Shane’s many dear friends. 

Visitation will be held on Monday (today), August 9, 2021 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake ND from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Thiele officiating.  Alden will be laid to rest at the Dakotah Oyate Cemetery following the funeral service.
