Alyce D. Haugen, 92 of Edmore, ND passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Park River Good Samaritan Center with her dear friend Carole Helle at her side.
Funeral Services for Alyce will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Living Word Free Lutheran Church in Edmore, ND with Reverend Craig Wentzel officiating. Burial will be in the Edmore Cemetery.
Alyce Darlene Perich was born to Louis and Effie (Price) Perich on March 19, 1927 on a farm near Egeland, ND. She attended grade school in a one room school and graduated from Egeland High School with the class of 1944.
Alyce lived in the Egeland/Cando area until November 5, 1947 when she married Orville J. Haugen. They moved to a farm by Derrick. They lived, farmed side by side and raised their four children through the years. They retired in 1982 and moved into Edmore. Orville died on November 30, 1995.
Alyce was always active in her community and her church. She was a charter member of the Shamrock Homemakers, Living Word Church and WMF and the Edmore Rest Home Guild. She enjoyed membership in the Edmore Historical Society and served on the Election Board for many years.
Alyce had many talents and the creations from those talents were shared with family and friends. She was a talented seamstress, quilter and crocheter making afghans, doilies, and even Barbie clothes to name a few. Doughnuts were a specialty and she had a green thumb for gardening. Many of her beautiful perennials were transplanted into many gardens in the Edmore area. She was the devoted farm wife doing whatever chores, operating whatever equipment was needed to keep the farm running.
Alyce loved her family, her dear friends and her Lord with all her heart.
Alyce’s loving family include her son David and his wife Laurie of Edmore; grandchildren and great grandchildren Alysa (Tim) Tulibaski and children Declan and Clayton of Argyle, MN, Sarah (Bailey) Nordin and children Lennon and Cohen of West Fargo, ND, Chad (Kimberly) Haugen and children Jackie, Leo, Lexi, Vayda and Ryah of Elko-New Market, MN and Emily (Danny) Hebert and children Gavin, Nolan and Rosalyn of New Ulm, MN; brother John Perich, San Diego, CA; brother-in-law Joe Sousa, Waterford, CT and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orville, children James, Arlyce and Paul, sisters and brothers-in-law Donna Sousa, Joyce and Edward Held, Lois and Ralph Rasmussen; brothers and sisters-in-law Harley and Lavon Perich, Ralph Perich in infancy and Louise Perich.
Casket Bearers will be Alysa and Tim Tulibaski, Sarah and Bailey Nordin, Chad and Kimberly Haugen and Emily and Danny Hebert. Special Tributes by Alysa and Chad. Music will be Congregational Hymns with Pam Landsem, pianist.
