There will be a Prayer Service at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
Andrew James Morin Sr., “Wambdi Wanykapi Wicasta” (Seen By The Eagles Man) 75 of St. Michael ND passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at rural Warwick, ND and was born on March 13, 1948, to the late Frank and Betty (Jetty) Morin.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon. Andrew will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Following the Mass there will be a meal served in the Tekakwitha Center.
Andrew was born and raised on the Spirit Lake Reservation and lived his entire life at St. Michael, North Dakota. He was married to Joyce Dubois, and they had three sons, Andy Jr., Douglas, Lyle and one daughter Lisa, who died shortly after birth. They divorced. He was married to Glenda Anderson and they had one daughter, Lori, they divorced. He married the late Brenda Myrick and had two children, Clarence and Julie.
Andrew was a believer in Education and took that to the full extent. He worked as a Police Officer, Tribal Judge, Fish and Wildlife Director, and finally he was a Dakota Culture teacher and loved working with students at Warwick Public School. He was very proud of all of them and felt honored to be their teacher. Andrew was a proud graduate of the University of North Dakota.

Those who survive and mourn the loss of Andrew: special friend Vicky Ironhawk, sons Doug Morin (Fargo ND) Clarence Morin, Lyle Morin and Lane Adams Sr. (St. Michael); daughters Julie Morin, (St. Michael) and Lori Morin (Grand Forks); grandchildren Tyler, Landon, Trayden, Ali, Emma, Destiny, Lance, Bryce, Cadence, Trustess, Annaliese, Dreams, Breezing, Clarence Jr., Ian, Tamara, Velson, Riley, Dominic, Fulton, Samuel and Bella Morin, Brooklynne, Robert III and Brielle Little, Bailey Mackey, Skylar Wilkens, Mandi Owlboy, Sarah DeLeon, Savannah Robertson, Sammy, Turenne, Austin and Dakota Selvey; many great grandchildren; siblings Pat WalkingEagle, Bonita Morin, Kevin Morin, and Marsha Morin;
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Andy Morin Jr., daughter Lisa Morin, brother Charles Morin Sr., sisters Debbie Morin and Mary Frances Herman, grandparents, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and grandson Darrett A. Mudgett Sr.
If we missed anyone it was not intentional at this time. Our family is going through a very difficult and unexpected death of our loved one.
