Beatrice B. Goeser (Fohr)

Beatrice B. Fohr-Goeser, 92 of Munich, ND passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, ND with loving family at her side.

Mass of Christian Burial for Beatrice will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Munich, ND with Reverend Mathew Pamplaniyil celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. 

Beatrice Bernice, daughter of Frank and Marie (Janzen) Fast was born on January 2, 1927 at Newton, Kansas. At a young age, Beatrice moved with the family to the “80” between Alsen and Loma, ND where she was reared and educated, attending a country school.

Beatrice ventured out on her own and moved to Alsen in 1949. She was united in marriage to Nicolas Fohr on June 24, 1950 at Munich, ND.  They made Alsen their home where they lived, worked and raised their son through the years.  Nicolas served as the Alsen Post Master and Beatrice became the Post Office Clerk.  Nick passed away on February 9, 1973.  Beatrice eventually moved to Munich, ND and served as the Munich Post Office Clerk for several years. 

Beatrice was blessed to find love again and married Ernest Goeser on November 7, 1981 and they called Munich their home. Beatrice was appointed the Post Master of the Egeland Post Office and made the daily trips from Munich to Egeland, summer, winter, spring and fall, retiring on December 29, 1995.  Ernest died on October 28, 2016. 

Beatrice was an active member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon and later St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Munich. Beatrice was an avid quilter and talented seamstress.  She loved the outdoors and grooming her yard on her riding lawn mower.

Beatrice felt blessed to have such a long life, a loving family and many dear friends on this earthly journey. May she rest in eternal peace.  

Beatrice is survived by her loving family. Her son and daughter-in-law Roger and Bobbi Fohr of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren Nicolas (Lindsay) Fohr, Dexter, MI, Lindsey (Steven) Buchhop, West Fargo, ND and Matthew Fohr (Naomi Bender) also of Grand Forks; great grandchildren Carter, Fischer and Cooper Fohr all of Dexter, MI and Kjerstin Buchhop, West Fargo;  sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Alvina Fast, Waseca, MN, Violet (Fohr) Eickenbrock, Sartel, MN,  George and Rose Goeser, Moorhead, MN, Maurice and Bernelda Goeser, Princeton, MN and Owen and Elizabeth Goeser, Devils Lake; many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Nicolas and Ernest; brothers Leland Fast, Ore (Alice) Fast and Richard Fast.

Urn Bearers will be the Roger Fohr family; Reading the Scriptures will be Nick Fohr and Steven Buchhop; Gift Bearers will be the Nick Fohr family.
