Bonita Faye Littleghost, our beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin and dear friend was born on October 16, 1961 in Devils Lake, ND to Francis and Helena (Waanatan) Littleghost and began her Spiritual Journey surrounded by her family on Monday, August 3, 2026.
The Wake Services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at St. Michael’s Wellness Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. from City Plaza, Devils Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Bonita Faye Littleghost, the daughter of Francis and Helena Littleghost grew up on the Spirit Lake Nation. She went to school at St. Michael’s Little Flower School.
She moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1983 and continued her education, earning her GED. She worked as a CNA in Minneapolis for about 30 years. She was forced to retire due to health issues.
While Bonita was living in the cities, she had five children: Nolan, Michael, Gerry Jr., Anthony and Rose.
Her favorite activities included walking to the lakes, playing Bingo and slots at the Mystic Lake Casino, playing softball and having picnics with her kids and family. Bonita always made time to come back home to Spirit Lake to visit family. We are very sad to say Bonita didn’t get to go back home to Minneapolis one last time.
Our precious Bonita will be greatly missed, forever loved, and always in our hearts.
Bonita is survived by her loving family. Her children Nolan Griffin, Michael Littleghost Sr., Gerald Griffin Jr., Anthony San Miguel, Rose San Miguel; grandchildren Mizaya Jones, Sky Jones, Adrian Jones, Wakinyin Burns, Samiya Burns, Olivia Medicine Stone, Jayce Curley, Cassidy Curley, Memphis San Miguel, and Tylie San Miguel; mother Helena Littleghost; brothers Richard Littleghost and Mark Littleghost; sisters Roberta Littleghost, Renita Shaw, Marva Tollefson, Marilyn Littleghost and Johanna Hunt; many nieces and nephews.
To our dearest Auntie and Grandmother, Bonita Faye. Thank you for a lifetime of unconditional love, guidance, and beautiful memories. You held a unique place in our lives. Bonita was reunited with her Lord and Savior, her father Franics Littleghost, brothers Rodney, Byron, Robert “Bobby”, Francis Jr., and Dennis Littleghost, sisters Lesa, Carla and Eva Littleghost and Sandra Tenecuer, grandchildren Michael Littleghost Jr., Mary Feather, Wesley BigTrack Jr., Keveon Feather, and Markin BigTrack, nephews Noopah Littleghost, Ninyo Mendez, Robert Little Jr., Michael Little, and Travis Littleghost, niece Charlene Cavanaugh, aunties Pauline Greywater, Elaine Robertson, Elizabeth Littleghost, Arlene Littleghost, and Lavern Littleghost, uncles William, Lawrence, LeRoy, Eugene, and Jordan Littleghost.
