Christine Angel Mindt

Christine A. Mindt, 31 of Devils Lake formerly of Bismarck, ND died unexpectedly on Monday, July 15, 2019 at her home.

The Wake for Christine will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Fort Totten Recreation Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Monday from City Plaza.

Funeral Services on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 12:00 noon with Reverend Larry Thiele officiating. Christine will be laid to rest in the Bdecan Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Tokio, ND.

Christine Angel Mindt, daughter of Kevin Mindt and Bernadine Tikanye was born on May 2, 1988 in Devils Lake, ND. She grew up and was educated in Bismarck, ND and was diligently working on her GED through Lake Region State College. 

Christine was a dedicated employee at the Spirit Lake Casino and Resort, working in a variety of positions through the years. She also worked for Al at A-1 Taxi in Devils Lake. 

Christine was never idle. She believed in keeping things neat and clean. She took pride in a clean house, clean environment and was always willing to help others with their chores. She always wanted to look her best and liked to dress up, get her hair and make-up looking just right for the occasion. You knew you were very special to Christine when she would tease you, make you laugh and include you in her long walks and quiet moments at home. 

The most important person in Christine’s life was her daughter Shakira, she was her pride and joy. Family meant the world to Christine and she treasured times spent with her sisters, nieces and nephews whom she loved so very much. 

We love you and will miss you always dear Mom, Sister and Daughter.

Christine is survived by her loving family. Her daughter, Shakira Alberts; Dad, Kevin Mindt; sisters Mary Mindt, Amanda Mindt and Mariah Mindt; seven nieces and nephews Priseis, Hailie, Patience, Kenneth Jr. and Henley GoodHouse, Devereaux Herman and Nevaeh Nerison; grandpa Aloysius “Fishy” McKay; special cousin Jodee Touche; aunts and uncles Bruce Mindt, Mark Mindt, Kelly Minor, Kim Arttus, Jodi Arttus and Maggie Chaske, Maynard Tikanye, Randy Tikanye, Duane Tikanye, Poncho Tikanye, Dephine Tikanye, Yvonne Georgeson and Beverly Tikanye; special friend Palmer Hopkins; great aunts, great uncles, many cousins and dear friends. 

She was preceded in death by her mother Bernadine; brother Gregory Mindt on July 7, 2019; grandparents Rosemary (Greywind) McKay, Francis Tikanye, Elizabeth Walker and Delores Yankton; great grandparents Helen and Jim Walker and Archie Redfox; great uncle Vixie Walker; great aunt Maxine Walker; cousin Brent Touche and nieces and nephews.

Active Casket Bearers will be Jodee Touche, Tommy Robertson, Bruce Mindt, C.J. Ironheart, Kenneth GoodHouse, Reggie Cavanaugh, Austin LaVallie and Matthew “Sambo” McKay.
