Christine Dawn Richotte “Krissy” “Inyan Ihakam Ya Win” (Rock Follows Her), 34 was born on Devils Lake ND on April 25, 1986 and began her journey to the Spirit World on June 2, 2020 at her home.
Visitation will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Monday, June 8, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave from the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Monday at 4:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Reverend Paul Schuster and Reverend Charles Leute concelebrating the Mass. Krissy will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Music will be provided by the drum group Lake Region Singers.
Casket Bearers: Curtis Feather, Tyrone Ironshield, Newlyn Littlewind, Kermit Dumarce, Oscar Feather, Jade “Kuda” OldRock, Welder Christiianson and Randy Snell. Honorary Pallbearers: Derrick and Mary Jackson, Robert Vega and Kids, Marie Delorme, Robyn Brown, Renita and Dallas Delorme, Janice Feather, Greg Feather, Roger Feather, Robert Hulst, Larse Azure and Alisha LaVallie, Kimberly and Filipo Williams, Todd and Sheila Belgarde, Denise and Owen McKay, Zachary Henderson, Harriet Feather, Corrina Sogge and Tina Hulst. If any names may have been forgotten, we apologize. It is a very difficult time for our family.
Krissy was the daughter of Laverne (Feather) and Alvin Bear. She began school at Fort Totten Headstart and finished elementary, middle and most of high school at Four Winds in Fort Totten ND. She got her GED at Cankdeska Ckiana Community College in 2003. While at Four Winds, Krissy played basketball, a game she loved and she was known as the “Enforcer”.
She was employed at Sprit Lake Casino where she met her soulmate Robert Richotte Sr. They started their family of precious children Raymond, Karissa, Lichelle, Todd, Aiana, Trinity, Arthur, and Robert Jr. Christine and Robert Sr. were married June 7, 2007 and they made their home in Fort Totten ND.
Her hobby was fixing electronics; she got her certificate online. She was a certified EMR (Emergency Medical Responder) and had 1 ½ years in accounting.
No matter what, she always made sure her family always came first. We were never prepared to live the rest of life without her. She will be forever missed.
Christine is survived by her husband, her parents, brothers Curtis Feather and Tyrone Ironshield, her 7 surviving children, Karissa, Lichelle, Todd, Aiana, Trinity, Arthur, Robert Jr., adopted son Daquan Keo, grandchildren Obed Jr. and Brisers Mondragon, Raymond, Victoria, Amberlynn, Dolan Jr., Adonis and Leilani Richotte, Drayven and Cutler Longie, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Christine was preceded in death by her sister Pamela Mazakahomni, son Raymond Joseph Richotte and sister-in-law Amelia Hulst.
