Clarice Marie Wilkinson

Clarice M. Wilkinson, 86 of Northwood formerly of Crary, ND passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Northwood Deaconess Health Center in the presence of her loving family.

Funeral Services for Clarice are Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND with Reverend Dean Lyste, Chaplain, Northwood Deaconess Health Center. Burial will be in the Crary Cemetery. Visitation on Saturday will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

Clarice Marie, daughter of Gunder and Tillie (Johnson) Bye was born on May 27, 1933 at Devils Lake, ND.  She grew up on the family farm at Crary, attended school in Crary and graduated from Crary High School. 

Clarice married her high school sweetheart, William “Bill” Wilkinson on March 28, 1952 at Grafton, ND. They established their home in Crary where they lived, worked and raised their family through the years. 

Clarice was first and foremost a devoted wife and mother. While living in Crary, she worked in the Housekeeping Department at Mercy Hospital for many years, retiring in 2006 after the death of her husband Bill.  She thoroughly enjoyed her job.  She had the opportunity to meet new people and interact and socialize with co-workers. 

In 2006, Clarice moved to Devils Lake and in 2014 to the Northwood Deaconess Health Center. Again, that bubbly personality made Clarice among the favorite of staff and residents.  She always had the smile and that positive attitude. 

Clarice was an active member of Crary Lutheran Church, the WELCA and enjoyed being a part of the Bible studies. After Crary closed she was a member of the Doyon Lutheran Church. 

Clarice is survived by her loving family. Her children Douglas (Mona) Wilkinson, West Fargo, ND, Debra (Owen) Dahl, Northwood, ND, David (Juliane) Wilkinson, Lakota, ND, Dennis (Angie) Wilkinson, Big Lake, MN, Dawn (Jurgen) Schwitzgebel, International Falls, MN and Dixie Wilkinson, Austin, TX; grandchildren Kim Sanford, Mitch Wilkinson; Joel Dahl, Ryan Dahl, Jessica Steward; Vanessa Sundeen, Bradley Wilkinson; Michael Wilkinson; Thomas Wilkinson; Jeremiah Wood, Zachary Wood, Megan Nygaard; Alyza Wilkinson, Danielle Wilkinson; many great grandchildren; brother Richard (Marge) Bye, Onalaska, WI; many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill and brothers Glen and Marvin Bye.

Casket Bearers will be Clarice’s grandsons and music will be provided by Vanessa Sundeen and Cynthia Anderson.
