Clark M. Linde

Clark M. Linde, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at CHI, St. Alexius Health, Devils Lake Hospital at the age of 63.

Clark was born on January 26, 1962, in Minnesota and was the son of adoptive parents Percy Linde and Lois (Maetzold) Linde Isakson and a brother to adopted siblings, brother Todd and twin sisters Laurel and Elizabeth.

Clark was united in marriage to Constance Zemlak on April 3, 2003 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada and through this marriage became a stepfather to Amber and Lindsey, also a grandpa to Jay, Halle and Drew as well as a brother-in-law to Harold, Kenny, Richard and Debbie, son-in-law to Olga and an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Clark had resided in Churchs Ferry, Leeds, Red Lake, Fort Totten and at the time of his passing made Devils Lake his home.

Clark graduated from Devils Lake Central High School with the class of 1980. During his high school years, he was in FFA, attended National meetings, played hockey, and was chosen MVP at hockey camp and was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout. Clark loved playing hockey against the Canadian boys.

Clark’s passions in life were farming and working on vehicles. Clark had many jobs in his lifetime, working for many local farmers. There was nothing he could not fix or repair, going as far as making his own tools and gadgets. Clark spent many hours on the phone looking for part whether it was for a vehicle, machinery, or an appliance, making sure he got the best deal possible to save everyone involved money and time.

As we all know Clark suffered with diabetes for many years, but it did not deter him from being a hard worker, lending a hand to anyone in need of his knowledge, smarts, and strength to get the job done. At the time of his passing Clark was employed as a mail hauler for a company out of West Fargo and was so proud of having a perfect record of not missing any days or being late on any of his mail runs. Of course, Connie was also immensely proud of her husband and all his accomplishments.

Take solace knowing that Clark passed without suffering and was doing what he loved; working on his grandfather’s truck.

Clark is survived by his wife Constance of almost 22 years of marriage; sisters Laurel and her husband Scott Picard, and Elizabeth Linde; nephews Jace (Morgan) Nybo, Bryce (Addie) Nybo and families; step brother Eric Isakson, step daughters Amber and Lindsey, step grandchildren Jay, Halle, and Drew; brothers-in-law Harold (Wilda) Orest, Richard (nephews Zane and Zach, great nephews Griff); sister-in-law Debbie (nephews Kelsey, Brett-niece Kendra) as well as many other relatives in the USA and Canada.

Clark was preceded in death by his parents Percy and Lois, stepfather Earl “Ike” Isakson, brother Todd Linde, stepbrother Peter Isakson, grandparents Louis and Ella (Frovarp) Linde, Maynard and Mabel (Halgren) Maetzold, mother-in-law Olga Zemlak, brother-in-law Kenny Zemlak as well as many other relatives in the USA and Canada and his beloved border collie Katie.

Clark was certainly a gem of all gems and to many who knew and loved him he was our “Diamond in the rough!” You will be forever missed and loved by all; never to be forgotten; rest in peace my dear husband and friend.

A Celebration of Life for Clakr will be held at a later date.

Clark is in the care of the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake.
