Constance "Connie" K. Nordrum

Constance K. “Connie” Nordrum, 74 of Devils Lake passed away at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks ND on Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Connie was born to Deloise (Froelich) and Julie Haugen on August 21, 1948 in Eugene, Oregon. She moved with the family to Devils Lake in the early 1950’s. After graduating from Central High School in 1966, she attended Aaker’s Business College in Grand Forks, ND.

Connie was at one time married to Alban Nordrum and they were the proud parents of three sons Del, Bryan and Steven. They made their home in Devils Lake through the years.

Connie was a dedicated hard-working employee her entire life. At a young age, she enjoyed working at “The Barrel” which her family owned and operated for 11 years.  She went to work for Keating’s Furniture after college and would be there for 25 years. She then went to work for the Post Office working the overnight shift for 17 years.

In her younger years, Connie enjoyed bowling and baking, and there was always a wide variety of bars and cookies especially at Christmas time. She loved Christmas and had a huge Christmas Village collection that would get displayed each year.  She always looked forward to taking trips with her Mom and sister. It was always so much fun to watch Dirt Track Racing, especially when her sons were participating.

Connie was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the American Postal Workers Union and in her early years, also enjoyed membership in the Lake Region Homemaker’s Club.

Connie’s pride and joy were her grandchildren Savanah, Grace, Cameron and Kinley. She treasured her family and loved spending time with them and her friends.

Connie is survived by her loving family.
