The funeral Mass will be live-streamed at facebook.com/stjosephdvl

Cherished wife, mom, and grandma, Cindy Marie (Mohs) Meyer, 73, of Devils Lake, known for her infectious, one-of-a-kind laugh, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 18, 2023. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 23rd at 9 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Devils Lake. Visitation will take place Friday, September 22 from 5 pm-7 pm with Rosary to follow. Per her request, cremation has taken place.

Cindy was born September 17, 1950, in Wahpeton, ND, the only girl born to Clifford and Donna Mohs. She grew up in Breckenridge, MN, graduating high school in 1968. She then attended Josef's School of Hair Design in Fargo, ND, ultimately working as a cosmetologist in Wahpeton.

Cindy met the love of her life, Phil Meyer, in July of 1967 at the local drive-in theater. They were joined in marriage on February 6, 1971, at St. John Catholic Church in Wahpeton. They made their home in Breckenridge and Hendrum, MN, Sykeston, and finally to Overly, ND, where they spent 38 wonderful years raising 3 children. Following Phil’s retirement in 2016, they purchased their very first home and split their time between Devils Lake and Lake Havasu, AZ; moving to Devils Lake year-round in 2020.

While raising young children filled her days, Cindy also helped with the bookkeeping at the Overly elevator. As the kids got older and became more independent, she enjoyed many opportunities to work different jobs, always being as social as possible. She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, traveling, movies, playing games, and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, whom she cherished with her whole heart.

Cindy also gave back to her community, serving on many church and school committees. For 22 years, she spent time working as a volunteer EMT for ambulances in Bottineau, Willow City, and Belcourt also serving on the state EMT testing team. Cindy served as the Eagles Auxiliary President on both the state and local Aerie in Rugby. She was current president of the Willow City American Legion Auxiliary. She was also active with the Overly Homemakers.

In honor of Cindy’s outgoing personality and love of all things vibrant, please join in wearing bright clothing.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Phil, Devils Lake; son Cory (Tammy) Meyer, Devils Lake; daughters Shawna Meyer, Bismarck and Marisa Dolbeare, Minot. Her loving grandchildren include Kaity (Nick) Stebbins, Bryce Armstrong, Reggan Dolbeare, Addisyn Meyer, Anabelle Dolbeare, Gage Meyer, and Slade Dolbeare. Four brothers include Jerry (Barb), Charlie, Scott (Vicki), and Mike (Kari). She had many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and amazing friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Donna Mohs; in-laws, Norbert and Arline Meyer; brother-in-law, Kenny Meyer; and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Meyer.
