Dale W. Anderson. 85 of rural Starkweather ND passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Towner County Living Center, Cando ND with family at his side.
Dale William was born on August 29, 1936, to Earl and Mildred (Angle) Anderson in Jamestown ND. He attended Jamestown Public School and graduated in 1954. Shortly after he joined the North Dakota Army National Guard. He met the love of his life, Clarine Hanson, while stationed at Camp Grafton. They were united in marriage on September 9, 1957, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Dale was a lifelong farmer, making the family home on the farm at rural Starkweather ND. For many years, he served as a Towner County Commissioner, member of the Water Board and also served on the BTR Board of Directors.
In his younger years, he obtained his pilot’s license and flew Air Taxi for Wakefield Flight in the 70’s and 80’s. He loved to fly. He was a man of many talents and built a tractor from scratch in 1966 which served him well through the years. He loved every aspect of farming and never truly retired. When the winter came, you would find Dale out in his shop, tinkering, inventing, welding, fixing.
Dale served his country, was a good steward of the land, devoted to his family and felt blessed by his Lord on the land and in the sky.
Dale is survived by his wife Clarine; sons Carlton (Linda) Anderson, Stephen MN, Joel (Peggy) Anderson, Starkweather ND and Eric (Lisa) Anderson, Fresno, California; daughters Carmen (Roger) Reed, Hazen ND, and Jenny (Jeff) Jokinen, Georgetown, Indiana; seventeen grandchildren; brothers Gary (Marilyn) Anderson, British Columbia, Canada and Marvin Anderson, California; sister-in-law Rubie (Don) Brintnell, Devils Lake and Joan (Jerry) Check of Wisconsin and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
