David Wayne was born on January 18, 1946 in Delta, Missouri, the son of Daniel and Margaret (Nix) Gibbons. He was reared and educated in Delta, graduated from Delta High School and continued his education at Southeast Missouri University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

David entered the United States Air Force on January 25, 1965 and served his country during the Vietnam War, with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant on November 28, 1967 and served with the reserves until January of 1971.

After David’s discharge, he returned to Missouri and began a career with Proctor and Gamble in Cape Girardeau. He was the lead technician for the first LUV’s Diapers manufacturing company. He wrote the manual for its production and traveled the world as the technical advisor to the other manufacturers.

David was united in marriage to Doreen Trudel on July 24, 1991. They established their home in Cando, ND and worked at Noodles by Leonardo. In 1997 they moved to Great Falls, Montana where David was instrumental in the start-up of a Pasta Plant there. They returned to Cando and later Devils Lake continuing employment with Noodles by Leonardo. In 2007, David retired after 25 years with the company, to begin his long battle with cancer.

David’s obsessions were fishing, gardening, hunting and traveling-in that order. He was obsessed with growing tomatoes and knew the “Totally Tomatoes” catalog by heart. He loved his family and dear friends with his whole heart and was such a strong support to others when they were in need of help.
