David E. Miller

David E. Miller, of Devils Lake ND passed peacefully at his home on December 10, 2024 at the age of 73.

There will be Military Honors and burial at the Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND in May of 2025. 

David Eugene Miller was born in Seattle, Washington, son of John and Elizabeth Jean (Johnson) Miller. His mother died when he was only 4 years old and he and his siblings went to live with cousins in North Dakota. 

David entered the United States Army and proudly served his country for seven years which included stateside at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and three tours in Saigon, Vietnam. He started as a clerk, with the United States Military Command, but also was involved in delivering supplies to the Vietnamese people by helicopter. He was honorably discharged from active duty on June 8, 1971 with the rank of Special 4. After his discharge, David worked road construction and drove gravel truck in several different locations. For the past 25 years, David has lived and worked in Devils Lake, at times working for LaMotte’s Paint and Glass. 

David was at one time married to Sharon Klocke and they were the proud parents of a son Robert John Miller. 

David always did the best he could in the face of the many adversities that life handed him. He proudly served his country and treasured his friends. 

David is survived by his son Rob and his wife Kari and their children Brooklynn (age 16) and Zachary (age 13); brother Raymond Miller of Washington State; several nieces and nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.
