Dennis Robert Price went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Towner County Living Center at the age of 91.
There will be a gathering of family and friends to share memories and stories at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake ND on Saturday, July19, 2025 beginning at 9:45 a.m. with the Funeral Service to begin at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Robert Buechler will officiate and burial will be at a later date in the Egeland Union Cemetery. There will be a time of fellowship following the funeral service at the Elks Lodge in Devils Lake.
Dennis was born May 1, 1934, in the middle of a dust bowl in Victor Township to Charles and Ruby (Johnson) Price. Dennis was the second oldest of 4 siblings. (Kenneth, Dennis, Nelda, and Lois). He took over the farm at the age of 17 after the death of his dad, Charles.
Dennis attended school at Egeland Public School and graduated in 1952. He met the love of his life Roberta Estenson in 1955, and they were married on October 20, 1956. Dennis and Roberta had 5 sons: Steven Charles (Tammy), Thomas Lee, Gary Herman (April), Gregory Robert, and Dean Patrick (Pam). He and Roberta were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren with number 25 due in November.
Dennis was a full-time farmer and rancher. He served on the Egeland Union Cemetery board, was a trustee with the Lakeview Lutheran Church board, was a 4H leader and would never hesitate to volunteer or help anyone who needed it.
Dennis was a devoted husband to Roberta and an amazing Dad to his boys, attending basketball games and other activities. Dennis was great at teaching his family important life lessons. He was incredibly wise and imparted that wisdom to his family. Dennis took great delight in his grandkids and great grandkids. Any time they would show up he would get the biggest smile on his face.
Dennis loved horses and cattle and instilled his love for animals in his kids and grandkids.
He was a man of quiet strength and exemplified the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5: 22-23) The legacy he left will carry on for eternity. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, son Greg, brother Ken and sister Lois.
Dennis is survived by his wife Roberta; sons Steve, Tom, Gary, and Dean; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sister Nelda Hennessy and many nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be Dennis’s grandchildren Justin Price, Ryan Price, Dustin Price, Jesse Price, Donica Nichols, Shannon Keller, Brittany Mandina, Jake Price, Jana Keim and Jacki Thomas.
