Dolores L. Hertl (Kraemer)

Dolores L. Hertl, 99 passed away on Sunday afternoon, February 10, 2019 at Eventide Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake with loving family at her side. 

Dolores Lorraine was born, June 9, 1919 in Crocus, north of Calio, ND. She grew upon the family farm. 

Dolores was united in marriage to Frank Hertl, a neighbor farm boy. They farmed many years at Calio. After Frank died in March of 1974, Dolores moved to Devils Lake and took care of her parents until their passing and remained in Devils Lake until her death.

Dolores was a member of St. Joseph Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and sang in the church choir for many years.

Dolores loved the outdoors; doing yard work, planting flowers and other outdoor chores. She was an excellent seamstress and also loved doing crafts. 

She was known to her family as “Tuddie” a name given to her by her Dad, and she will always be remembered that way.

Dolores is survived by her loving family. Her sister Carol Helten-Vredenburg, Crystal, MN and many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents August R. and Josephine (Schmitz) Kraemer; husband Frank; brother Donald Kraemer; sisters Eunice Twete, Jeanette Ingeberg and LaVerne Michels-McKelvey; brothers-in-law Donald Twete, Bob Ingeberg, Leo Michels, James McKelvey, Ray Helten and Emery Vredenberg.

Mass of Christian Burial for Dolores will be held next Friday, February 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with the Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, rural Calio in the spring.

Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Thursday, February 21^st from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 5:30 p.m. Rosary will be led by the Catholic Daughters and Deacon Ken Severinsen will officiate the Scripture Service.  Visitation on Friday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
