Douglas Miles Anvik, 83, of Devils Lake, North Dakota, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

Douglas was born on April 15, 1943, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Otto and Sylvia (Olsen)  Anvik. He spent his younger years farming in Fairview and later in Buford, North Dakota, until the age of 16, when his family moved to Stanton, North Dakota, in 1963. While in Stanton, Doug helped operate the family lunch and recreation hall, where he met the love of his life, Laura Sailer.

Doug and Laura were married on December 18, 1964, beginning a devoted marriage that spanned more than 60 years, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and lasting memories. Doug worked as a millwright at multiple power plants throughout his career until retiring in 2005. Following retirement, Doug and Laura continued to make North Dakota their home and later settled in Devils Lake in 2022.

Doug will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, kind heart, and deep love for his family. He cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and took pride in the life and legacy he built alongside Laura.

He is survived by his loving wife, Laura Anvik; his children, Timothy Anvik of Forman, North Dakota, Tammy Borland of Dickinson, North Dakota, Terry Anvik of Devils Lake, North Dakota, Tina (Kirk) Matheny of Lisbon, North Dakota, Douglas Jr. (Rebecca) Anvik of Devils Lake, North Dakota, and Hope (Greg) Dawson of Lisbon, North Dakota; one brother, Dan (Karen) Anvik of Bismarck, North Dakota; 20 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one nephew; and twin granddaughters.

The family of Douglas Miles Anvik would like to thank everyone for their prayers, support, and acts of kindness during this difficult time.
