Eugene Todd Laverdure of rural Minnewaukan, ND passed away Wednesday, August 26th, 2026, at his home in the loving care of his family. He was 63 years old.

There will be a Celebration of Todd’s Life on Friday, September 11th, 2026, at Bethel Church Gymnasium, Devils Lake, ND. Visitation is from 4:00pm-5:00 pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 5:00 p.m. with Reverend Bruce Dick. Music by Jim Vilandre with a supper to follow.

Todd was born on January 21st, 1963, in Harvey, ND to Eugene and Shirley (Kesler) Laverdure.

He attended Minnewaukan School and later attended and graduated from Lake Region State College.

Todd was united in marriage to Shelly Vilandre August 12th, 1983. They just celebrated their 43rd Wedding Anniversary. They were blessed with one son Dustin and later an amazing grandson Holden who has spent many weekends staying with Nana and Pappa.

Todd worked various jobs throughout the years and was proud to recently be able to retire from the ND DOT as a Snowplow Operator. His love of music was carried throughout his life as well as his love for woodworking and sharing his many projects with family and friends.

He had a generous spirit with a compassionate heart who always put others first. He was known for his grace, humor, and deep devotion to his family. His love for nature was evident by the many trails he kept up and mowed at his home and enjoyed going for walks in them.

Todd is survived by his wife Shelly, son Dustin, grandson Holden; father Eugene; four sisters Jeanine Martin (Joe), Annette Diehl, Margo Armentrout, Madge Selensky (Ron) and one brother Darin Laverdure (Kelly); sisters-in-law Deb Leben, Mary Martin; brothers-in-law Ben Vilandre, Rob Vilandre, Jim Vilandre and Brian Vilandre; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as many aunts and uncles.

He was welcomed into heaven by his mom Shirley, father-in-law Richard Vilandre and mother-in-law Donna Vilandre, sister Doreen Johnson, sisters-in-law Gail Vilandre and Shirley Olivas, brothers-in-law Derwin Vilandre and Gordy Vilandre, niece Nicole Olivas as well as his grandparents.

A life well lived, surrounded by soft paws and quiet purrs. No home was ever too small, and no lap was ever too full, for the many cats he cherished.

Todd will forever be in our hearts until we meet again.
