Eunice (Clock) Reeves, 98 of Devils Lake formerly of Warwick, ND passed away on Sunday evening, November 3, 2019 at Eventide Devils Lake Care Center.

Eunice Ione Celeste Clock was born on October 10, 1921 to Nels and Gunda (Frayrack) Clock in Hampden, ND.  She graduated from Hampden High School in 1940. She worked at Rutten Dental Office in Devils Lake, ND.

Eunice married Frank “Jack” Reeves, her true love, on July 14, 1948 in Devils Lake. They lived on a farm south of Warwick, by the Sheyenne River for the first few years of their marriage. There they raised pheasants, enjoyed riding horse, and snowshoeing. They later bought a farm, 6 miles north of Hamar, from Olga Anderson who was like a grandmother to them. They had two children, Jeanne and Jerry.

Eunice loved being a member of Warwick Lutheran Church was involved as a Sunday School Teacher, a member ELCA church women where she served on the board a number of years, and many committees. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and was known for her pies and brownies! She loved the outdoors whether it was going for a walk on gravel roads or through the pastures, tending to her big yards with flowers and trees, or gardening. She liked to travel with Jack. They enjoyed visiting with relatives and friends along the way to their usual warm weather location, Florida! Her last trip to Florida was at the age of 89 years, but even in her last few years she said she thought she could make it to Florida “a couple more times”.

Eunice was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and beloved sister and aunt. Eunice was a stay a home mom and created a loving home for her children, and later the visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved those visits and always had plenty of food and fun planned! She counted family and dear friends as one of her greatest blessings. 


Upon Jack’s retirement in 1979, Jack and Eunice moved to Warwick were they lived for several years before moving to Devils Lake. Jack and Eunice moved to Devils Lake where they have since made their home. Jack passed away May 3, 2006, they had been married 58 years. Eunice lived in their home until she was 91 years old. Then she moved to Lake Country Manor and later to Good Sam’s Nursing home.

She is survived by daughter: Jeanne (Rodney) Keller, Fargo, her son: Jerry Reeves (special friend Barb Henderson), Devils Lake; grandchildren Cassandra Gunderson, Matthew Keller; Jessica Reeves, Kyle Reeves, Megan (Jeremy) Bartlett, Christopher Reeves; great-grandchildren Brittany, Zack, Amy, Mason, Letty, Kadence; the mother of her grandchildren, Nance Reeves, Fargo; sister, Jean Ivesdal, Devils Lake and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers, Ardell, Lloyd, Duane, and sisters, Florence Clock, Francis Simon, and Dolorus Kerr.

A Celebration of Life for Eunice Reeves will be held at Warwick Lutheran Church on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Stan Kwiecien officiating. Burial will be in the Warwick Cemetery and lunch will follow the graveside services. All are welcome. 

Gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, November 6th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake.

Urn Bearers will be Matthew Keller, Kyle Reeves, Christopher Reeves and Zack Bartlett. Honorary Pallbearers will be all members of the Warwick Lutheran Church. Memorials to Warwick Lutheran Church and Warwick Cemetery Fund.
