Gary E. Haugland Sr., 80 of Devils Lake passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Sanford on Broadway Medical Center, Fargo ND.
Visitation for Gary will be on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Peace Lutheran Church, Devils Lake beginning at 12:00 noon until the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Burial and Military Honors will be accorded in the spring at Storlie Cemetery, rural Hampden ND.
Gary Earl Haugland was born on February 27, 1942, the son of Earl and Norma (Larson) Haugland. He grew up and was educated in Hampden.
Gary worked on the farm and at the Hampden gas station until he joined the US Army in July of 1964. While in the Army he was a Wheeled and Track Mechanic and attained the rank of Sergent. In June of 1967 he received his honorable discharge from the Army.
Gary was married to Mary Scott and they were the proud parents of Harold, Brad and Gary II.
Gary had a variety of jobs until he started with IF Lafleur & Sons Inc. in April of 1980 as a service manager and electronic technician.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and wood-working and spending time with his grandchildren.
Gary will be dearly missed by his survivors: His three children Harold (Kim), Brad (Cassie) and Gary II (Charity); nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings Wayne Haugland, Sandra Lunde and Linda Barnes; Mary Haugland; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive.
Gary’s parents Earl and Norma have passed on.
Pallbearers Harold “JR” Boesl, Brad Haugland, Gary Haugland, Anthony Haugland, Harley Boesl, Walker Einarson, Dallas Haugland and Scott Senger. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jessie Haugland, Boyd Lafleur, Rick LaFleur, Tory Haugland and his dear grandchildren and great grandchildren.
