Gene D. Kotaska

Gene D. Kotaska, 85, of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at his home with his loving family surrounding him.

Gene Kotaska was born June 22, 1939, in Grafton, ND, the son of Stanley and Mildred (Sticha) Kotaska. He attended schools at Lankin, ND and graduated from Valley City State University. He earned his Master’s Degree at the University of North Dakota. He married Patricia (Hanson) on August 2, 1958.

He was superintendent at Michigan, ND, St. Mary’s Academy in Devils Lake, and Warwick Public School, ND. He purchased and operated Haugner’s TV and Appliance in Devils Lake, ND. He renamed it Prairie TV and Radio Shack. He retired as superintendent in Wing, ND, and moved back to Devils Lake.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, and his treasured four children and fourteen grandchildren; daughter Cindy (Randy) Mayers, Devils Lake and their children, Melissa, Rebecca, Robert, and Nicole; son Tim Kotaska, Hannaford, ND and his daughter, Elizabeth; son Bill (Suzy) Kotaska, St. Louis MO and their children, Ryan, Kevin and Jeff, daughter Kathy (Eric) Watson, Minneapolis, MN and their children Tera, Megan, and Alex, (Angela's children) Erica, Brittany, and Mark and eight precious great grandchildren.

He is reunited with his parents, daughter Angela, and granddaughter Taylor.
