Gloria B. Alberts

Gloria Bernice Alberts began her Heavenly journey on Friday, May 16, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria was born September 2, 1947 to Veronica Thompson and Levi DuMarce. She attended school at Little Flower in St. Michael. She later worked at DTI for 10 years before retiring. She was a well known Star Quilt Maker. She made beautiful blankets that have spread throughout the country.

Gloria loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to attend ceremonies throughout the community and region. Gloria helped anyone in need. She always opened her home to grandchildren, other family and friends.

Gloria was a loving Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Grandmother. Her heart was full of love for her family. She will be greatly missed.

Gloria is survived by her precious family that include her sisters Sylvia (Eugene) Hale and Jeanette BlackCloud; her children Verle Littleghost, Kenneth DeMarce, Delbert DeMarce and Loren Littleghost; favorite granddaughter Denise (Owen) McKay and grandchildren Wichoni DeMarce, Charlie DeMarce, Wambdi DeMarce and Geraldine DeMarce. She had many beloved nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

She was reunited with her parents Veronica and Levi, daughter Karen Littleghost, husband Christopher “Buddy” Alberts, uncle Zachary Thompson, brothers Leonard DeMarce, Albert Thompson, and Richard DeMarce Jr., sisters Sandra DeMarce and Elaine DeMarce, grandsons Shane Patterson Jr., Delbert DeMarce Sr. and Billy Joe.

Casket Bearers will be Allen DeMarce Jr., Richard DeMarce Jr., Avery Kirk, Kazsidi Kirk, Delbert DeMarce Jr., and Brenden Doughty. Honorary Bearers will be Sylvia and Eugene Hale and family, Celeste Herman and family, Jeanette BlackCloud and Helena Littleghost.

Gloria will be in the presence of family and friends at her home beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025. The procession to Gloria's residence will leave on Friday from the City Plaza, Devils Lake at 4:00 p.m. Gloria will be with her family until Monday, May 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. when they will bring her to her earthly place of rest at the Native American Church Cemetery, rural St. Michael, ND
