Grace Sharbono, 85 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Grace will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Devils Lake on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with burial in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
Grace Esther (Rowe) Sharbono
Grace Esther Rowe was born Aug. 4, 1939 in Breman, Indiana to Ralph and Esther Rowe. Grace graduated from Mohall School in 1958. Grace went to Jamestown Collage and graduated with a BS Degree in Nursing in 1962. It was there that Grace met H. Wesley Sharbono and they were united in marriage on December 27, 1961in Mohall, ND by Rev. Ralph Rowe – Grace’s Father.
Grace worked as a Nurse at Jamestown Hospital for 15 yrs as an OBGYN/MED Surgical Nurse and taught Jamestown College nursing students. In 1976 the family moved to Devils Lake, ND to the family farm. While on the farm Grace worked part time for the ND Maternal Child Health and sold farm eggs. Then in 1981 Mom was asked by Mercy Hospital to start the Home Health Program where she helped many individuals in the Lake Region community. Grace retired from Belcourt Public Health Department in 2004.
Grace was involved in United Methodist Women, Devils Lake Senior Center, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, School for the Deaf Swimming Program, ND Blind and Impaired Vision Program, ND Mental Health, and Jamestown College nurse’s class of 1962. While retired Grace and Wes would go to a daily coffee group at the Ceder Inn Restaurant and go to Missouri to visit family. Grace also made frequent trips to Jamestown to visit alumni and friends.
Grace is survived by her immediate family Wade Sharbono, Dean Sharbono, and Beth Zahn. Grandchildren: Coltin Sharbono, Cameron Sharbono, Brandon Zahn, Cody Zahn, and Zander Zahn. Brothers and Sisters: Evelyn (Don) Nelson, David (Sue) Rowe, and Jim (Mary) Rowe and many Nieces and Nephews in Missouri, Indiana, Massachusetts, and Texas.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Sharbono, parents Ralph and Eshter Rowe, Sister Florence Jarcow, Brother-in-law Allan Jarcow and Daughter in-law Michelle Sharbono.
