Jarett Lee Longie

Jarett Lee Longie, 48 years old entered the Spirit World on April 7, 2022 surrounded by loving family at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks ND. Jarett was born on August 9, 1973 in Devils Lake ND at Mercy Hospital to George and Jerolyn (Conklin) Longie. He was raised in Fort Totten ND, attended school in Fort Totten and graduated from Four Winds High School. Jarett enjoyed dancing traditional in his younger years along with arts and crafts and refinishing old furniture making it look new. He also loved watching TV and staying and spending time with the family. Jarett is survived by his mother Jerolyn; sisters and brother Delorine Smith, George Longie Jr., Nikki (Justin) Massmann, Jeanie Fournier and Larissa Longie; nieces Lana and Tenest, Chelsea (Val), Keianna (Brandon), Hennessey, Shelby, Dreyvan; nephews Colton (Jennifer), Marquel, Keplin, Anthony, Lincoln, Chevy, Oliver, Jubal, Jonathan, Ryan; grandchildren Kaden, Hanna, Baby George, Keara, Kiara, Nevaeh, Caprial, Gladys, Ciaro, Maleina; aunties Frances Liberty, Evangeline White, M. Yvonne Longie all of Fort Totten and Jacquelyn Lara, Judy L. Yessilth all of New Town ND. Jarett was preceded in death by his father George Longie Sr., paternal grandparents Napoleon and Janette Longie, maternal grandparents James and Eleanor (RedFox) Conklin, uncles Samuel, Tim, William, Little Dave, Richard and Fred Longie, Titus Hall, aunties Bernice Juarez, June Lockwood, Barbara Young Bird, Janice White Body, Virginia Conklin, Janis Freeman. Jarett will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Services on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at St. Michael’s Tekakwitha Center with burial in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Crow Hill, ND; Bishop Michael Cole will officiate. Special Speakers will be Tony McDonald, Lawrence Baker, the Honorable Chairman of MHA Nation, Mark N. Fox. Kris While will provide special drum and songs. Active pallbearers will be Colton Littlewind, Marquel Longie, Fred Longie, Ryan Hill, Sidney L. Yessilth, Cory Smith, Michael Bird Bill and Anthony Rolland.
