Jeremiah worked at Sioux Manufacturing Corporation and Dakota Tribal Industries for several years until increasing health problems forced him to retire.

Jay was united in marriage to his precious Mary E. DuBois on September 9, 2000. They were together for over 30 years, sharing a beautiful life together. They lived in Fort Totten, Minnewaukan and Devils Lake. Mary died on October 1, 2016.

Jay enjoyed hunting, especially deer hunting. He was so creative, spending many hours doing beautiful bead work of all kinds. Sharing his creations with family and friends. He loved to drive on the back roads of the Spirit Lake Nation, and he knew them all. It was always a fun time to visit, tell stories, and catch up with family and friends as they drove along. He treasured time with family and friends with his whole heart.

Jay’s loving family left to mourn his passing include his children Tisha Crowe, Jerilyn (Jamie) Soto, and Darrel Crowe all of Wisconsin; grandchildren Robert, Samantha and Justin Jr. and several great grandchildren; brothers and sisters Matthew (Emerald) Robertson, twins Jean Robertson and John (Vickie) Robertson and Laura Robertson; step children Gary Thumb Jr., Stacy Thumb, Tracy Thumb and Marty Thumb; many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; many dear nieces, nephews and their families.
