Funeral Services for Joshua will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Devils Lake with Reverend Dayne Zachrison officiating.
Joshua James Weed was born on July 8, 2000 at Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake ND.
When Josh turned 14, he couldn’t wait to get his work permit to start work at Schwan Oil. Josh really enjoyed the people he met there. He worked for Barry and Lori Ann Schwan up until the time he was employed with Synergy. Barry and Lori Ann always held a special place in Joshua’s heart.
Joshua attended BSC and became a Certified Lineman. He loved his job with Synergy, Sauk Center, MN and the wonderful men and women he worked with. He told me on so many occasions, he learned so much about the world from these special coworkers and friends. At 22, Josh was proud to be driving one of the largest boom trucks the company owned. He was a supervisor at 23. He was so proud to be an integral part of the company. He loved being part of their success. In the beginning of his career, he spent 30+ days in Sidney, Montana. The town lost power due to a tornado. He was so grateful to be able to help the townspeople and they were so very kind and grateful in return. He loved the camaraderie.
Joshua was an avid hunter. He loved anything mechanical. He was refurbishing a 1950’s International pick-up he found in the trees at the old farmhouse. He had welded a new frame and was in the process of retrofitting an engine. Every year, he loved spending time in Yellowstone, snowmobiling with his buddies. And hunting in the Badlands of North Dakota. He spent many great days on Bismarck golf course with his special friends. Of course, riding his motorcycle.
Josh had many special friends. Bryer Erickson, Dylan Durbin, Hunter Bowker and Luke Wilkie. His special friends at Synergy were Jake, Jerry, John, Kyle, Eric, Cody, Brody and Zayden. Grady, his boss, was someone Josh looked up to. Learning quite a lot about the job and life itself.
He is a special son of Monte Weed and Laura Gray. Special brother to Kaitlin Weed. Special Grandson to Marlene Alejandre, Stockton, CA. Many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
We were so very blessed to be your family and your friends.
Joshua was preceded in death by his Grandmother Lois Weed “Honey”, his namesake, Uncle James Gray, Uncle David Gray and Grandpa Ralph Alejandre. Special Uncle, Hubie Johnson. His unborn child, of which he carried a glass angel to keep the baby close to his heart. This was his welcoming committee into Heaven.
