Julianne P. "Julie" King

Julianne P. “Julie” King, 81 of St. Michael, ND passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

There will be a prayer service and visitation at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. followed by the Rosary and Scripture at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be: Monday, December 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow the Mass. The celebrant will be Father Paul Schuster.

Julianne Patricia Jetty was born on June 19, 1944 at Fort Totten, ND the daughter of Angeline (Morin) and Fred Jetty. She attended Little Flower School at St. Michael, ND, St. Paul’s Indian Mission School, Marty South Dakota and Immaculate Conception School, Stephan, South Dakota. While attending school in Stephan, she met the love of her life and later married William L. “Bill” King on October 6, 1962 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Following their marriage, Julie and Bill resided in South Dakota; she was a devoted wife and mother. Julie and Bill purchased the King Grocery Store in Ree Heights SD, where Julie managed the store.

In 1979, Julie and Bill made the loving decision to return to St. Michael to help care for her aging parents. They had resided there ever since. Julie worked for many years at Little Flower School in St. Michael and the Four Winds School, Fort Totten, ND.

Julie had many talents. She was an excellent seamstress; making Bill’s western shirts and many of the girls’ clothing, She enjoyed crocheting and gardening, sharing her beautiful creations with family and friends. She enjoyed being outdoors, walking and picking berries to make pies and jam. She also enjoyed traveling with her sister Eleanor and brother Buddy. She liked watching the Price is Right and over the last few years liked watching Westerns.

Her steadfast faith carried her through this long journey.

Julie is survived by her husband Bill of 63 years; children Rhonda (Brett) Stirling, Wibaux MT, Angela Beltz, Reynoldsburg OH, Leo King, St. Michael ND, Lacey King, Devils Lake; grandchildren Teddie Norman, Jocee (Jodi) Hedrick, Chancey (Ty) Krantz, Bailey (Justin) Prewitt, Wyatt Beltz, Garett, Beltz, Rayeisha King, Laila King, Sienna Lunak, Elicia Nelson, Kohlby Cavanaugh, Nathanial King, Josiahs King; great grandchildren Aubrie, Brianna, Creece and Denton Norman, Caylen and Odessa Hedrick, Rhett Krantz, Kord, Whitt and Murphy Prewitt, Patrick King and Koah Cavanaugh; Sisters Mariann E. McCulloch and Renita Delorme; brother Roland Johnson and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Julie is preceded by her children William King and Theodora King, parents Fred and Angeline Jetty, in-laws James and Eleanor King, siblings Cecelia Ives, Sarah Hoven, Oliver Jetty, Eleanor Langstaff, Alfred “Bud” Jetty, Sr. Inez Jetty, Jean Mudgett, Bonita Jetty (in infancy), Chris Johnson, Kenneth Abraham and Jacob Abraham, son-in-law Daryl Beltz and great grandson Ben Barragan.

Urn Bearers will be Wyatt Beltz, Garett Beltz, Kohlby Cavanaugh, Nathanial King, Josiahs King, Kord Prewitt, Caylen Hedrick, Creece Norman.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Patricia Walking Eagle, Renita and Dallas Delorme, Lyle and Bev Etbauer, John and Cheryl Knippling, Berdie Rieger, Betty Smith, Shirley Greising, Beverly King, Staff of Four Winds School, and all Friends and Family of Julie.
