Kevin D. “Rover” Kraft of Devils Lake ND passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at his home.

Gathering of family and friends will be at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, ND on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary, Scripture Service and Time of Remembrance at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Mr. Ken Severinson, Deacon officiating. Mass of Christian will be on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, ,Devils Lake with Reverend Kamalraj Balasamy celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. 

Kevin Duane Kraft, son of Duane and Beverly (Patnoude) Kraft was born on September 7, 1962, in Devils Lake. Kevin was raised, educated, lived, worked, made his home in Devils Lake his entire life. Rover graduated from Central High School with the class of 1981 where he participated in football and played wing man on the hockey team during his school years. While in high school he worked for Heit Construction and at Leever’s Super Value.

After graduating, Rover decided he wanted to make Devils Lake his home, so he worked for Ray Kraft Painting Service, in maintenance at Lake Region Junior College and then began an 18 plus years career with Nordic Fiberglass, retiring in 2024 due to increasing health problems.

The Lake Region area was a perfect fit for Rover. He had a passion for hunting and fishing. He loved the outdoors, spending time with friends and family on those early morning hunts and the comradery of processing, fileting, cooking, whatever they harvested over the season. 

In his younger days, Rover was part of "Art's Boys" fast pitch softball league, and their success earned them a trip to the Nationals in Arizona. A trip that made memories to last a lifetime.

If you knew Rover, you knew he kept a meticulous house and yard, but both were always open for good times with family and friends.

Kevin is survived by his loving family. His mother Beverly of Devils Lake; sisters Charlotte Kraft and Kim Lysne also Devils Lake; nephews and niece Nathan (Samantha) Miller, Justin (Jani) Kraft, Catlan (Danae) Lysne and Carley (Justin) McCarthy; eleven great nieces and great nephews Abria: Carter, Easton, Mikan, Joelcee: Landan, Rickelle, Wyatt: Emma, Lauren, Kellen; aunts Marlene (Joe) Bertsch, Detroit Lake, MN and Donna Clune, Washington; uncle Donald (Lola) Patnoude, Breckenridge, MN and many dear cousins.

He was reunited with his Dad, Duane, brother-in-law Rick Lysne and grandparents Adam and Eve Kraft, Mitchell, and Thressa Patnoude.

Urn Bearers will be Gary Koble, Gary Senger, Dave Duckworth, Lynn Toso and Randy Kraft.
