LaVerne M. Bear, 69 of the Spirit Lake Nation began her journey to the Spirit World on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

The Wake for LaVerne will be on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the Tekakwitha Center, St. Michael, ND beginning at 4:00 p.m.  The procession will leave on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. from City Plaza. 

Funeral Services will be on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Tekakwitha Center with Reverend Paul Schuster officaiting. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Curtis Feather Sr. , Arthur Richotte, Robert "Bug" Richotte, Oscar Feather, Arthur Feather, and Gary Feather III.
