Nola Jean Glock

Nola Jean (Wruck) Glock passed away on October 20, 2023, at SMP Health, St. Catherine North Nursing Home in Fargo, ND in the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley and family.

Per Nola’s request there will be no funeral service held but there will be a private gathering of family Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake with burial in the Storlie Cemetery, rural Hampden ND.

Born to Gertrude (Gebur) and Arthur C. Wruck on August 12, 1930, at Gardena, ND. The family moved to a farm in Huron Township, rural Clyde ND by loading a horse drawn wagon and driving the cattle along the way. Here, Nola was reared and educated, attending school in Clyde, and graduating from Munich High School in 1947.

Nola married Thomas P. Glock on June 12, 1948, at her parents’ home in rural Clyde. They lived in various places including Devils Lake, Park River, Homestead, FL, Clyde, and Finley.

Nola was active in the Zion Lutheran Church in Munich and the Finley Lutheran Church.

After Thomas’s death in 1980, Nola moved to Minot where she worked at Rueb’s Camera and retired from Minot State University Food Services Department. While living in Minot, Nola was active in the Zion Lutheran Church there.

Nola’s faith and determination helped her through the trials and tribulations of life as such a young widow. She worked hard to support herself and to be there as a devoted mother and grandmother.

In 2012, Nola moved to Fargo ND to be near her daughter and family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two children Nicolette Glock (Gary) Axness of Fargo and Nolan Thomas (Wanda) Glock of Minot; two grandchildren Amber (Trevor) Aakre and Cody (Mandy) Axness; four great grandchildren Samuel and Nicholas Aakre, Violet and Mara Axness; many dear nieces, nephews, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas, sisters and brothers in-law Genevieve and Carless Meredith, Elaine and Max Hanggi, Doreen and Clifford Tabert, brother Donald Wruck, nieces Carla Meredith, Coleen Bourgeois, nephew Rodney Hanggi.
