Nona J E Johnson

Nona JoAnn Elizabeth Johnson, age 77 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on January 4, 2021 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Nona was born on September 1, 1943 to John and Matilda (Moilenen) Patron in Brocket, ND. She graduated from Fargo High School, North Dakota in 1961. She married Raymond Lilleoien,  together they began farming rural McVille, ND and started their family of five children.  Nona chose a new direction and that led her to attend Minot State University, obtaining her degree and license as a social worker. She also practiced teaching English as a second language, was a certified nurses aid, delivered meals to many house bound individuals.

Nona is survived  by her sister Helen (O’Neil) Rainsberry,  daughters: Jayne (Ron) Brown of Grafton; Jeanette (Brian) Hatlestad, Henderson, NV;  and Jennifer (Mitch) Dosch of Eden, NC. Grandchildren: Paul (Arwen) Gillett, Bethany (Brett) Narveson, Jessica (Jesse) Mollica, Zachary Hatlestad, Dane Gillett, Sarah (Zachary) Burns, Madison Lilleoien, Ryan Dosch, and step-granddaughter, Melissa (Gregory) Schroeder. Great-grandchildren: Clara and Caleb and step-greatgrandchildren: Mackenzie and Paige. She also survived by several nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, and her significant other, John Peterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Dorothy and Paige; brothers, Ronnie and Stanley; and her son, Gary.

Nona enjoyed being of service to others and will be remembered for the many lives she touched through her years of service & dedication to others.

A celebration of life service will be held at Faith Evangelical Free Church in Grafton, North Dakota on January 16^th, 2021 at 2:00 pm; Facebook live stream available for those not able to attend. Face masks required.  Graveside services will be held at the Enterprise cemetery in the summer of 2021 near Brocket, ND.
