Ole Adolph Olson

September 3, 1954- September 29, 2026

Ole A. Olson, 72 of Devils Lake passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at his home.

Ole A. Olson was born to Adolph and Evelyn Olson in Devils Lake ND on September 3, 1954. He attended school in Devils Lake until 1969. He headed to Montana and joined the Job Corp. While in Job Corp, he earned his GED and started a life in Road Construction. Ole worked for Strata Corporation, Dick Belrud Trucking and Close Construction over the years. Ole married Debbie Gefroh and together they had 2 children.

Ole met his A 1 Love Marie Desjarlais in 1984. They were united in marriage April 1993 and blended their family. Ole treasured family time, he enjoyed his hobby air planes, teaching himself to play guitar and learning all about electronics/technology. He was always willing to pass on his wisdom, his jokes and his knowledge to us. When you talked to Ole, you were in for a good story and some belly rolls. He was quick with the witty comments and comebacks. At age 62, Ole hung up his hard hat and started his retirement.

Ole is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Marie, their blended family include 7 children and spouses, 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Janice Smith (Jeremiah Soeby)- Royalton MN; Angie Leonard (Micheal)-Penn ND; Missey Bercier-Devils Lake ND; Randy Crist Jr (Kaylee)-St. Michael ND Candace Lommen (Justin)-Devils Lake ND; Lee Crist (Tiffani)- Devils Lake ND; Fields Olson (Tara)- Devils Lake ND. Siblings include Sandra Olson (Rodney)- Western Union MN; Randy Olson (Linda)-Devils Lake ND; Sonja Desjarlais-Devils Lake ND; Sharon Olson-Devils Lake ND and many nieces and nephews.

Ole is preceded in death by his parents Evelyn and Adolph Olson, in-laws Norbert and Violet Fournier, brother Ricky Olson, friend Robert (Bobby) Jetty, and brother-in-law Richard Desjarlais.
