Quinton O’Dell McEwan, 49 passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND with his loving wife by his side.

Quinton O’Dell McEwan was born on August 7, 1969 at Staunton, Illinois, the youngest of 5 boys born to William and Frances (Kelton) McEwan. He grew up in Illinois and Indiana and graduated from Terra Haute High School in 1988.  He continued onto college and spent time in the service of his country. 

Quinton married Elizabeth Cronkhite in 1994 and he was a loving Dad to his boys Johnathon and Benjamin.  

Quinton moved to Devils Lake in 2002. He worked at the Cenex, Heartland Care Center and WalMart. He married his soul mate and the love of his life, Angela Zettler on October 11, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  They established their home in Devils Lake until 2007 when they moved to Grand Forks. Quinton was promoted to Assistant Manager at WalMart and also worked a variety of other jobs.  Quinton was worked for Anderson Merchandisers in 2016 when he suffered a heart attack and his health never improved, forcing him to retire. 

Quinton liked to play golf, chess, was into Star Trek, Star Wars and the Marvel movies. Quinton was quite the “character”  and had great love for his family and his canine companions. 

Quinton is survived by his wife, Angela McEwan; sons Jonathon Terneus of Indiana and Benjamin McEwan of Arkansas and a grandson; brothers and sisters-in-law Andrew ansd Stephanie McEwan, Fort Wayne, Indiana, William and Lisa McEwan, York, Pennsylvania, Judy McDermott, Fort Meyer, Florida; mother-in-law Darlene Zettler, Devils Lake; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Terrance Zettler, Devils Lake, Marie Bryant, Griffith, Indiana, Bonita and David Hoffart, Linda Zettler and Wanda Zettler all of Devils Lake; many nieces, nephews and their families also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Michael McDermott and Tommy McEwan in infancy and father-in-law Richard Zettler.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with Reverend Steven Wirth celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday, May 7th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Mr. Ken Seveninson, Deacon officiating.  Visitation on Wednesday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
