Rani Joy Howard

Rani Joy Howard “Mágaju Iýokipi Win’yan” (Loves Rain Woman) began her journey to the Spirit World peacefully surrounded by her family, relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. She was 46 years old.

The Wake for Rani will be on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Fort Totten Recreation Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Monday at 4:00 p.m. from City Plaza, Devils Lake.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fort Totten Recreation Center with Reverend Paul Schuster officiating. Burial will be in St. Jerome’s Cemetery, rural Crow Hill.

Rani Joy Howard, daughter of Deborah Little and the late Stanley Howard, was born on February 7, 1979, in Devils Lake ND. She grew up in Fort Totten and attended Four Winds School. She obtained her GED at Lake Region College, Devils Lake. Rani continued her education at Little Hoop Community College and graduated with a degree in 2011.

She enjoyed going to the Casino and BINGO, especially loved her fame shows on TV, listening to music was her favorite and visiting with friends.

Rani’s loving family includes her mother, Deborah Little; Scarlett Howard; sister Heather Posey (Brandon); brothers Cameron Howard and William Howard; nieces and nephews Demrae Ami, Talissa Ami (Marshall), Shandyn Ami, TruVal Ami, Nathen Howard, Braedon Howard, and Lestat Howard; granddaughter Mylah Ami.

She was welcomed to the Spirit World by her Creator, her dad Stanley Howard, grandmothers Marjorie Little Davis and Eunice Redbird, brother Presley Howard, god parents Bernice and Irvin Killsplenty.

Pallbearers for Rani will be Darrick Ami, Brandon Alberts, Brandon Posey, Wesley BigTrack, Jesse Arthur McKay, and Dusty Jetty.
