Richard Edward Neer

Richard Edward Neer, 41 of Pelican Rapids, MN passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024 at his home.

Funeral Services for Richard will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tekakwitha Center, St. Michael, ND with Reverend Paul Schuster officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, rural Oberon. Urn Bearers will be Chrystal Leftbear, Barris Guy and Travis Guy. Please join us for a meal and fellowship at the Tekakwitha Center following burial at Oberon.

Richard Edward, son of Clair and Arlene (Meade) Neer was born on October 8, 1982 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He lived for a time in North Dakota, Oregon and Washington State. He attended school in Washington. In 2012, Richard moved to Bismarck ND and lived with his aunt Marilyn Meade Hanson and her family. At the time of his passing he was making his home in Pelican Rapids, MN.

Richard worked various jobs in his life, but increasing health problems made full-time employment impossible. He enjoyed football, playing video games and loved to go fishing. You never saw Richard without his dear faithful canine companion Otis at his side.

Richard faced many challenges in his life but felt so blessed to have loving, caring, supportive family always there to help in any way they could.

Richard’s loving family include his mother Arlene Neer; half-sister Angelia McGuffin, nephews Jacob McGuffin and Elijah McGuffin; aunt Marilyn Meade Hanson and several very special cousins and many precious aunts, uncles, cousins and several dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Clair Neer, brothers Cole Neer and William “Billy” Neer, and grandparents.
