Rose Ann Bull (Burkhard)

Rose Ann Bull (Burkhard) was born on July 27, 1964 in Devils Lake, ND to Ramona (Peltier) and Clayton Dale Bull Sr.

She lived most of her life on the Spirit Lake Nation except for several years when she attended boarding school in Clearfield, Utah. She also attended Four Winds High School. She played basketball for fun, she never was a girl into sports. Rose Ann later attended college and graduated with a Liberal Arts Degree.  

Rose Ann worked at the Spirit Lake Casino and various other jobs through the years. Rose Ann loved to work.

Rose Ann married Steven Burkhard on Valentine’s Day, February 14^th. They never had children together but as a couple they raised several children as their own.

Rose enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching her children grow. In her younger years she enjoyed playing Darts, BINGO, taking drives in the country, eating out music and visiting with family and friends. She treasured each moment she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren and her dear family.

In our eyes, Rose was the greatest Mom. She never did anything wrong. She loved us with all her heart.

Rose Ann is survived by her husband Steve Burkhard; daughters Holly (Jeff) Lenoir and Meggie Leftbear; sons Delson Bull and Johnny Leftbear; grandchildren Braydon, Calvin and Kelly; brothers Lawrence, Alex, James, Clyde, Jesse, Bobby Joe, Bobby Lee and Derrick; sisters Patsy Owlboy, Karen Longie, Mary Bruce, Susan Bull, Bonnie Bull, Sheila Bull, Julia Fox and Angie Bull; father-in-law Ray Burkhard; sister-in-law Gaylene (Lawrence) Tollefson; brothers-in-law Tony (Vicky) Burkhard, Gene (Melissa) Burkhard, Rodney Burkhard; many nieces, nephews and cousins and her “sister” Anita Aabrekke.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clayton and Ramona; brother Clayton Bull Jr.; nephew Clayton Blackbird and niece Elsie Bull.
