Rubie Ann Brintnell, 88, passed away May 20th 2026 surrounded by family.
She was born to Rudy and Ann Hanson in Devils Lake, ND. She grew up on the farm by Garske, ND and graduated high school from Devils Lake. She attended 2 years at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.
The first half of her adult life she married Donald Iverson and lived in Hampden, ND as a farmwife. She
had her children during this time and had very fond memories of her friends there.
The second half of her life she spent in Devils Lake. She worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 20 years, where she loved helping others and making a difference in peoples lives. She then met the love of her life, Donald Brintnell and spent 33 blissful years with him until his death in 2023. She loved being a part of the Brintnell family.
Rubie and Don enjoyed traveling and fishing and visiting with friends and family. Rubie was a collector of things-old things, shiny things, unique things-which she purchased at auctions and rummage sales. She was especially fond of all things North Dakota, which brought her great joy. She also cherished her Norwegian heritage and made excellent krumkaka and lefsa.
Rubie is survived by her children and grandchildren, Kathryn (Paul) Wilson, Iver (DeEtta) Iverson with: Alexis, Dana, and Ivar, Christie Iverson with: Jake, Joe (Maris), Sofia (Adam)and Lara, Holly Iverson, Esther (Doug) Moratzka with: Drazen and Duquesne, and Dawn Iverson with: Boyd, Ann, and Elizabeth (Gage) and many great grandchildren, her sisters Joan (Jerry) Check and Clarine Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy and Ann, her husband, Donald, brother-in-law Dale Anderson and son-in-law Greg Wentz.
We would like to thank all the people of Devils Lake that looked after our mother in the last years of her life. She was able to remain independent because of you.
