Ruby A. Gette

Ruby A. Gette, of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Eventide Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake with family at her side. She was 94.

Born Ruby Ann Berge on December 31, 1930 in Bisbee, ND to Oscar and Katherine (Schafer) Berge, one of ten children. The family moved to Devils Lake in 1943 after Oscar passed away.

Ruby married Frank Schiele in October of 1948. They settled on the Schiele family farm seventeen miles outside of Devils Lake where they grew grain and raised livestock. They sold the farm in 1979 and moved to Devils Lake. Frank passed away in February of 1996.

Ruby married Leo Gette in October of 1997 and they continued to live in Devils Lake until his passing on June 21, 2020.

Ruby was preceded in death her parents Oscar and Katherine, husbands Frank Schiele and Leo Gette, brothers Wallace Berge, Robert Berge, Lloyde Berge and Clinton “Swede” Berge; sisters Doris Weeks and Lois Marsillo.

Ruby is survived by her three children Bruce Schiele, Montana, Dianne Schiele, Pensacola, FL and Debra and her husband Bob Kraft of St. Michael, ND; grandchildren Shanna Schiele and Cole Schiele of Colorado, Jon Kraft, Ohio, Mandy Kraft, Devils Lake; great grandchildren Matthew Schiele and Aiden Schiele also Colorado, Austin Kraft, Devils Lake and Lane Kraft, Ohio; brothers Roger Berge of Texas, Stanley Berge and his wife Bobbie of Washington and Oscar “Kenneth” Berge and his wife Sherrie of South Florida.
