Selma Agnes (Alberts) Cavanaugh, our precious Mom, sister, niece, cousin, friend, grandma to many and more. Sally started her journey to the Spirit World on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at CHI, Devils Lake Hospital.
Sally’s Wake Services will be held at the Fort Totten Recreation Center, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 beginning at 4:00 p.m. with a time of prayer and remembrance at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. from City Plaza, Devils Lake.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Fort Totten Recreation Center. Sally will be laid to rest at the Raven Hill Cemetery, rural Fort Totten.
Selma Agnes Alberts “Kunsi” was born on March 25, 1949 in Crow Hill, ND to Alvina Mary (Jerome) and George Benjamin Alberts.
She was nice to everyone. She loved company, jokes, movies, cooking, spending time with her grandkids, making sure everyone was safe and fed. Sally loved gambling at the Spirit Lake Casino and Resort. Her favorite game to play was KENO. Sally also loved her Instagram Reels.
Sally is survived by her loving family. Her son Roger Alberts; grandchildren Eliza Cavanaugh, Olivia Cavanaugh, Tamya Cavanaugh, Tariah Cavanaugh, Zane Abraham, Crystal White, Mary Longie, Harleigh Demarce, Marleigh Demarce, Leora Fox, Louise Fox, Lace Fox, and many, many more; nieces and nephews Leola White, Wilma Longie, Henrietta Longie, Leanne Alberts, Ladonna Fox, Collen Alberts, Lenore WhiteLightning, Sandra Martin, Janet Martin, Marcella Martin, Eunice Davidson, Victoir and Lucille Lancelotta, the Foote family of MHA; adopted sisters Sheila Thompson, Catherine Howard, Debbie Little, Catalina Herman, Alfreda Dunn, Imogene Belgarde, Myra Pearson and Susie Thunder; adopted daughters Lynissa Bull, Ashley Ross, Nikki Johnson, Sonya Bull;
She was reunited with her loved ones her husband George “Porgie” Cavanaugh Sr., son Walter Thomas Cavanaugh Jr., granddaughter Veronica Georgeanna Cavanaugh, parents George and Alvina Alberts, nephew Allen Alberts Jr., twin children Alfred and Lois SpottedBird, brothers Allen Alberts Sr., Christopher Alberts, Roger Alberts Sr., Joe Alberts, and Quintin Alberts, sisters Winona, Virginia, Marie and Lynda, nieces and nephews LaVonne Alberts, Alvina Thompson, Tyrell Alberts, Terry Dunn, Baby Al Alberts, Lee Fox, Leonard Fox, Lynn SpottedWolf, William Boy Longie, Leann Fox, and many other nieces and nephews, grandkids Veronica Cavanaugh, Elmer White III, Kyan SpottedWolf, Dusty Goodbird, Maria White, Sam Fox, Kami White, Danica “Tynee” White and Thomas SpottedBird.
