Sno Rani Old Rock was born in Devils Lake ND to Levi Eagleman and Agnes “Micki” Old Rock-Diserly on December 5, 1972. Rani was adopted by her grandmother Irene T. Yankton. She grew up with her four siblings in Fort Totten ND. Rani attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New England, ND, Four Winds High School in Fort Totten ND and Devils Lake Central High School where she graduated in 1992.
Rani participated in many sports, but loved basketball the most. She was a cheerleader, ran in track, and played softball. Rani loved to watch football and during the Super Bowl, she always said she had to watch no matter who was playing. Rani traveled to pow-wows with her family and became a Fort Totten Days princess. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children.
Rani worked for Spirit Lake Tribe, the Casino and Job Service. She worked with the youth and every job she held, she was well known as a great worker and friend. She moved to Oregon to live with her two sisters and her uncle Darren. She loved to travel and when she went to the Coast for the first time she said “It’s breath taking.”
Our sweet sister, mother, cousin, aunty and grandmother will be missed greatly, but never forgotten. Rani was loved by all who met her. The memories we have of her we will always cherish and the lessons she taught us we will carry always.
