Stanley Edward Sigette passed away Sept 23, 2024 at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake, with his loving family by his side. He was born to Edward and Pearl (Johnson) Sigette on April 4, 1940 in McVille, ND, and was the oldest of six children.
Stan was raised and educated in McVille and Warwick, and spent one year attending Benson County Ag & Training School in Maddock. He graduated with the class of 1958 in Warwick, ND.
On Dec. 7, 1958, he married M.Patricia (Pat) Carlson at St. Olaf Church in Devils Lake. Stan & Pat had 10 children that were raised in Devils Lake. Stan was the owner of Armour’s Truck Stop from 1963-1993, and later had various jobs including driving a mail truck, and delivering chemicals for CPS. Stan enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at “The Lodge”, mowing grass, but most enjoyed spending time at the shop with Cam.
Stan was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. In his younger days, Stan was involved in the Jaycees, Devils Lake Gun Club, the Elks Lodge, the Devils Lake Curling Club, and enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, and racing stock cars.
Stan was very proud of his 10 kids, 20 grandkids, and 9 great-grandkids, and loved to hear what they were up to.
He is survived by his children: Loydene Wakefield of Devils Lake; Cameron (Karla), Devils Lake; Susan (Pearce) Sunderland, Gulfport, MS; Scott (Lisa), Devils Lake; Troy (Janelle), Bismarck; Mark (Jennifer), Sioux Falls; Steven, Fargo, Beth, Fargo; Kristen (Christopher) Scholand, West Fargo; Shannon (Steve) Bergee, West Fargo; Grandchildren: Aaron, Jeremy, Justin, Brandon, Kayla, Lucas, Amanda, Wyatt, Hunter, Emily, Lane, Madeleine, Laura, Mary, Jacob, Ryker, Miles, and Harlow, as well as great grandchildren: Hudson, Grace, Parker, Kade, Claire, Kase, Johnni, Emma, and Krew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pat (2016), son-in-law Tom Wakefield & grandchildren Mikal and Nicole Wakefield (2005).
He is also survived by siblings: Bruce, Ellen Solomon, Wes, Corey, and Carla (Gary)Dunn, in-laws: Doug (Darlene) Carlson, Ike (Ilene) Carlson, Dallas (Robyn) Carlson, many nieces & nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Devils Lake on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 11:00am with visitation at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Reverend JoHanna Buchholz is officiating with burial in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Lunch will be served at the church following the service, along with time for sharing memories of Stan.
