Services will be live-streamed on Facebook.com/stolafchurchdevilslakeSteven Michael Peterson, 50, Devils Lake, ND passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at his home.
Steven was born November 18, 1973, the only son of Michael and Sharon (Swedin) Peterson. He was reared and educated in Devils Lake, graduating in 1992. Much of his life he enjoyed anything art related, but he was most proud of how his love for art also flourished in his children.
He loved animals having many pets of his own, as well as any kind of wildlife, always wanting to feed them by hand or pet them.
Steven was a lover of many things. Sports, collecting, movies, Trivia, and watching fireworks and the sunset. Above all his family and those animal friends he loved to snuggle up with pets, Mylo, Sunny, Jackson and Bode.
Steven and Susie were united in marriage on November 9, 2002, establishing their home in Devils Lake. They welcomed two wonderful children into this world, daughters Jillian and Bree, who blew the buttons off Steven’s shirts with pride.
He had such a quiet nature, that reserved soft sweet nature that banded him with his dear daughter Jillian, but they loved to joke around together in silly ways, he was a witty man. Steven loved cheering for the Vikings and basketball teams, Lakers being a favorite. But Bree changed his heart into cheering for the wrong color, green, due to Celtic love they bonded deeply over game stats, etc. The laughter, inside jokes, and ways they tricked each other made you giggle.
Steven worked until complications of diabetes no longer allowed it to be possible. Employed with Camp Grafton, Cenex for almost 20 years, and Leevers County Bottle Shop. Through all his hardships, he still found ways to be positive and have fun.
May he rest in peace, knowing he made a lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Steven is survived by his loving family. His wife Susie; daughter Jillian Peterson, Grand Forks, ND and Bree Peterson, Devils Lake; mother Sharon Peterson, also of Devils Lake; father-in-law and mother-in-law Jerry and Daria Miller, Devils Lake; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Todd and Liz Miller and their children Zach, Max, Addy and Ryan of St. Michael, MN, Brian and Natalie Miller and their son Anthony of Devils Lake; several dear aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael, and grandparents.
